Post-Closure IPO Process

After an IPO closes, the process of allotment begins. If the IPO is oversubscribed, shares are allotted through a lottery system for retail investors and proportionate basis for other categories.

What Happens After IPO Closes?

  1. Basis of Allotment (T+3): Finalization of share allotment, typically 3 days after close
  2. Refund Initiation (T+4): Refunds initiated for unallotted/partially allotted applicants
  3. Credit to Demat (T+5): Allotted shares credited to demat accounts
  4. Listing (T+6): Shares start trading on stock exchanges

How to Check Allotment Status

You can check your IPO allotment status on the registrar's website using your PAN number, application number, or demat account number. Each IPO has a designated registrar (like Link Intime, KFin Technologies, etc.) who manages the allotment process.
